How to find the right size – Asian, European & international sizes at a glance
Anyone who orders online knows the problem: Sometimes the garment fits perfectly, sometimes it's way too small or too big. This often leads to confusion, especially with Asian sizes , as they differ significantly from European or American standards. To help you make the right choice in our shop, we've put together an overview here.
Asian sizes
Clothing from Asia is usually 1–2 sizes smaller than European sizes. This means:
An Asian L is roughly equivalent to a European S or M.
It is especially important to follow the size chart provided for tops and trousers.
European sizes (DE / EU)
In Germany and most European countries, sizes are traditionally given in clothing sizes (e.g., 34, 36, 38, etc.). For men's clothing, these are usually numbers like 48, 50, 52.
Women : Size 36 corresponds approximately to S , size 38 to M , size 40 to L.
Men : Size 48 corresponds approximately to M , size 50 to L , size 52 to XL .
US & UK sizes
There are also differences between US and UK sizes:
Women : A European size 38 corresponds approximately to a US size 8 or a UK size 10 .
Men : A European 50 is usually a 40 in the USA.
Shoe sizes
This is where confusion often arises. An overview:
EU 39 corresponds approximately to US 7 (women) or US 6 (men).
Asian shoes often run smaller – we recommend choosing at least one size larger .
Children's sizes
Children's sizes are usually given according to height in centimeters .
Example: A child who is approximately 110 cm tall usually wears size 110 .
Some brands also provide age information (e.g. “4–5 years”), but these are only guidelines.
Size 92 ≈ 2 years
Size 104 ≈ 4 years
Size 116 ≈ 6 years
Size 128 ≈ 8 years
Baby sizes
For babies, the size also depends on the body height in cm .
Size 50 for newborns (approx. 0–1 month)
Size 56 for babies up to 2 months
Size 62 for babies up to 4 months
Size 68 for babies up to 6 months
Size 74 for babies up to 9 months
Size 80 for babies up to 12 months
Our tip: measurements come before sizes!
The safest method is always to directly compare your measurements (or those of your child) with the size chart provided on the product. Since each label can vary slightly, you should focus on the centimeter measurements rather than the letters (S, M, L).
✨ Tip from Mr. Inkprint: Measurements come before sizes!
The safest method is always to directly compare your measurements with the size chart provided on the product. Since each label can vary slightly, you should focus on the centimeter measurements rather than the letters (S, M, L). Babies and children grow quickly, so it's best to buy a size larger and always measure again to be on the safe side.
